The Christmas Gift Guide…

by

And just like that it’s Christmas and (nearly) December again. Apologies for my absence, in truth this post has taken me longer than I had anticipated it would and then I went and had a blissful Mummy Weekend break in the Cotswolds last weekend and enjoyed a bit of a digital detox. But here it is, my edit of Christmas gift suggestions that I hope will help you find something for the special someone in your life – or indeed help to inspire you on what you would like from big Father C this year! I’d love to tell you at this point I had done all of mine and was quietly smug with my feet up but that is far from the truth. If only I practiced what I posted, as I am yet to even start my shopping – oops.

Asked what I would like, although I still struggle on specifics, my brief is simple – little luxuries. These days I question buying anything for myself so it’s those little bits of chic that make me happy. If you follow me on Instagram you may have also noticed that I am trying to shop from my wardrobe more and rework old items so this year I would definitely love a few statement pieces of clothing that will inject new life into my classics. I’m also pleased to report that after a two year hiatus I have a work Christmas party to go to (huzzah!) so I’ve been enjoying looking for something to wear and I’ve included the sequin skirt from Warehouse’s amazing party wear range that is definitely on my radar. I’m hoping Santa might come early for me…

When it comes to my loved ones I don’t know if it’s just me but year on year I am finding it even harder to find the perfect gift. The practical things they need are just boring so this year inspired by my own brief I will be buying little luxuries for them too. Things they don’t necessarily need and wouldn’t buy for themselves ordinarily but are lovely nonetheless.

Even Daisy has been a difficult one to buy for this year and to be honest I didn’t even know what to get her until a few days ago! She has so much stuff and just as I do a cull or surreptitiously ‘squirrel’ things into the loft without her noticing, more seems to appear that we just don’t have the space for. However, now she’s that bit bigger and really into imaginary play, her toys do have that little bit more longevity which is a bonus. At a recent press event she made a beeline for a doll’s house and hasn’t stopped talking about it since so we have plans to get her Ikea’s version that’s not only affordable but customisable too.

So, there you have it. If you are like me and finding yourself failing at the Christmas shopping list this year with less than four weeks to go (eek!), below are some lovely gift suggestions from High Street brands and small brands too for her, for the little ones and for the home to help you shop for others and for yourself too – because well, why not? ‘Tis the season after all…
