Poor January gets such a hard time. When it should be the month of new beginnings and fresh starts instead it’s treated like it’s a thirty-one day long hangover. It’s the month of strict diets, torturous gym sessions, and has all the financial fun of a wet day with no umbrella. To add insult to injury, the final sale rail dregs just look plain sad now even for those who aren’t dieting/gyming or broke.
Now I’m not suggesting this is the perfect time to plan your holiday wardrobe (I’m impressed if you do) as it’s hard to be inspired to buy new items this early on in the new year BUT it is a perfect time to update your classics or indeed add new ones to your wardrobe. Of all things January doesn’t have to be fashionably unfriendly too. So if like me you are bored of seeing sad reduced rejects Next is here to help…
For the second time the High Street store has teamed up with Emma Willis to deliver the most January justifiable purchases I’ve seen all month. Emma’s edit is simple, stylish but most importantly effortless which let’s be honest, is what we most want to hear right now when just getting out of bed is currently an achievement. The mum of three nails easy dressing, mixing sturdy perennial favourites with trend led items for a look we can all achieve – hooray!
I adore this classic camel coat, it will never go out of style and the oversize silhouette will flatter almost everyone. Other pieces in her edit include pom pom knits and a pink suit that will work for the office, a night out or as separates. Put simply, I defy you not to want something from this collection. Oh and if you’re concerned about the cost, you needn’t, the prices are the usual ones we all know and love Next for. Below I’ve pulled out my favourites (although I pretty much want them all) for your enjoyment…
So there you have it. Even if your January is dry or you’re on a fitness kick, be kind to yourself and make it a month of living fashionably at least.
