Style: The Yellow Edit

Not a colour I probably would have given a second glance to if it were not Daisy’s favourite hue but now it’s all I see wherever I go and believe she is onto something – I’ve totally been influenced by a three year old!

I’m not entirely sure where her love of it came from but it is firm and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t relieved she wasn’t a pink fan given quite how girly she is. Further fuelled with the hint of spring lurking just around the corner (hopefully) and bunches of daffodils appearing in supermarkets (an underrated flower in my opinion) I can totally see why she loves it so much. My love of the citrus shade began with my yellow skirt from M&S and has since evolved into a mustard roll neck. I now have my eye on the chunky yellow knit from H&M in my edit below.

Jumper: Apricot
Jumper: Gap. Skirt: Marks & Spencer. Boots: Office (all old)

A happy hue, it looks great with denim, black and grey and can really elevate an outfit. With so many variants of the colour from mustard through to bright sunshine there are plenty of shades to play with so you will no doubt find a colour to suit you. I’m also thinking about introducing some yellow to the house as a way of brightening it up – the mustard bedside cabinet would be perfect for Daisy’s room and I definitely think I have a space for a yellow cushion in the living room even if my husband disagrees…

I’ve put together an edit of pieces I’ve found on the High Street available now. The beauty of this colour is you don’t have to go full throttle, a flash of sock or rich mustard shoe is all it takes to add a little bit of zest to your style. It’ll certainly brighten your day!
