Putting a Spring in your Step…

by

By now it’s fair to say my love of a trainer has been ascertained, I have a fully fledged addiction to them. So when a new style landed this season naturally I had to get on board and dip a toe into it, quite literally…

The floral trainer is the perfect mix of utility and decadence, practical but with a twist – a fine case of style and substance you might even say. Prettifying the unisex shoe in time for the spring and summer months, if you were in any doubt how to pull a plain pair off in a feminine way then the addition of embellishment, embroidery and floral finishing has taken care of your concerns. They are also a simple way to add some colour to an otherwise neutral outfit.

I love the versatility of a trainer, there aren’t many outfits they won’t work with. Granted, most of the time I pair them with jeans and a t-shirt but now the weather has finally got the seasonal memo and is warming up I also love them with a dress and of course shorts.

I recently got this pair that happily merges my current obsession with foliage and my ongoing love for the sports shoe du jour – a winning combination. Perfect for adding a tropical touch to my wardrobe, they will also be great for our first family holiday next month when I will mostly be running about after Daisy!

Here are my pick of the best available on the High Street now…

1. Ego

2. Boden

3. New Look

4. Monsoon

5. Next

6. Dune

7. Marks & Spencer

8. River Island
