It’s no secret that I am not the biggest fan of fuss and frills when it comes to clothing but something has definitely changed and I think having a little girl has certainly made me (slightly) more girly which somewhat explains where my newfound love of white Broderie blouses began…
Although it is frilly and flouncy, the cut and simplicity of this top makes it entry level girly that can easily be toned down. It’s also the ideal top to dress up or down – something I think is important when buying clothing for myself these days. I don’t like to save things for special occasions anymore – mainly because they are so few and far between! I’ll be honest, when I first spied this blouse I was impressed that I liked something so unlike my usual style but rather than dash out immediately to get it I left it to see if it stuck in my mind. Daft as it sounds before I can justify buying clothing I like to work out at least two ways to wear it in my mind.
I’m pleased to say I’ve only had this top a couple of weeks and I’m pleasantly surprised how much I love it. Already it has served me well on a number of different occasions – at the weekend I like to contrast the flounce with a simple pair of denim ripped shorts and slides while the weather is warm enough and it worked perfectly on a night out with jeans, heels and a leather jacket. Put simply, it has become a great alternative to a simple white t-shirt. I’m really enjoying eyeing up items this season I would never have looked at before but I’ve still a long way to go with fully embracing girly yet. And just to keep things balanced I’ve recently bought a black version of this blouse too!
Here’s my round up of the best blouses available now…
