If you hadn’t already noticed, big statement sleeves are everywhere. Fluted, flared, funnel and flouncy, they are everywhere. While you may not want attention drawn to the tops of your arms (I for one certainly don’t), the beauty of this trend is these flamboyant tops start from mid arm going down or if that’s a daunting concept you can indeed pick a piece that only flares at your wrists. Granted, I have discovered to my detriment that they are possibly not the most practical when it comes to actually doing stuff but sometimes it’s just wonderful to wear something that isn’t justified by it’s practicality.
This simple grey fluted sleeve number is from Marks & Spencer and you only have to look on social media to see it has fast become one of the most instagrammed/blogged about fashion items of 2017 so far. After just a week of wearing mine (obviously not everyday!) I can testify to the popularity of this knit – it’s comfy, flattering and most importantly affordable which is wonderful news for the bankrupt among us in the month that follows Christmas. Naturally I opted for grey but it also comes in a soft pink too – which I’m very tempted by.
Alongside my jumper I’ve scoured the High Street and cherry picked the best sleeves out there that I think are worth your pennies. Needless to say we are spoilt for choice smart, casual, knitted or jersey – there’s a style for everyone. This is most definitely a look to dip your toe (or arm) into…
