When it comes to bags my demands are simple: roomy for a crazy amount of stuff and durable enough to withstand said stuff and daily usage (changing bags around too frequently causes me to lose things). I’ve always had a bit of a thing for an oversized bag but not too big that I have to get in it to find anything (literally!). So when searching for the perfect bag to lug all of my (and Daisy’s) essentials to France and back I fell upon this designer look-a-like gem from Next no less. Made from canvas but looking woven enough to tap into the straw bag trend that is everywhere, it has been my lifesaver.
Of the many reasons I love it let me share just a few, firstly it’s lined and features pockets inside so no there’s no chance of smaller items going AWOL – vital when scrabbling around for lipsticks, dummies and hair clips for Daisy’s rapidly growing fringe. Secondly, as well as the sturdy handles it has a longer body chain handle thus freeing up my hands and arms for mummy duties and finally, it is light and a great size – big enough for both the airport and my poolside must-haves so I used it throughout the holiday.
As if those weren’t enough reasons to love it, since coming home, the neutral canvas and monochrome stripes down the front works with everything I already own. Bretons, red, black (obviously) and navy – everything. It has been so versatile I have found myself reluctant to go back to my day to day nappy bag as I love this so much!
You only have to glance at the High Street to notice the wave of woven goodness that is around. I’ve put together my other favourites available now…
