It’s a very good day when you get to try chocolate, write about it and call it ‘work’. In fact the combination of the impending long Bank holiday weekend and chocolate is making me feel like it’s Easter all over again, and I like it!
If you have been following me for some time you would have seen Creighton’s Chocolaterie mentioned before now. Although I don’t often do posts on food, I am a big fan of supporting small businesses and this lovely shop is very local to me (10 mins walk from my house) and it’s the nearest I have ever got to a real-life Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Aside from it being one of the prettiest and most instagrammable shops you will ever step into, it has the biggest range of extraordinary flavours I have ever seen – and I can vouch for at least half of them (oops)…
Started up by a clever mum and daughter duo, the small business all girl team are celebrating their 7th birthday this month and to mark it they are having a mermaid themed takeover in the shop. As well as a host of loveliness happening in store throughout May, there will also be a mermaid limited edition range of chocolate available to buy online too and I was lucky enough to try it…
The “Mermazing” chocolate bar is a beautiful swirl of white chocolate, blueberry, marshmallow and edible glitter all hand-wrapped in their signature beautiful packaging. There’s also a “Pail of Pearls” on offer which is a stunning mini bucket of milk chocolate shells that shimmer and white chocolate pearls and “Sea Shore”, which are pieces of white chocolate and blueberry decorated with sparkles to tempt you.
And lastly for the die-hard chocolate fans there is “Mermaid Milk”, strawberry and white hot chocolate powder to make yourself the most decadent drink complete with edible sparkles and stars topping.
My verdict: well it didn’t last long in my household! I can safely say this is some of the nicest chocolate I have enjoyed for a very long time hence why I have sampled half of the flavours already on offer. Everything about Creighton’s products are so special and clea so lovingly made and it would make a lovely gift for someone, or yourself! So if you are in the area get yourself down to the shop and enjoy the takeover or get online quick and snap up some seaside treats before they are all gone.
Let’s be honest, anything that encourages you to be more mermaid is bound to be as amazing (or should that be mermazing) as it sounds…
Happy Birthday Creightons – here’s to the next 7 years!
